TDT made a grant of around £1000 to the Teachers' Centre in January 2012 to buy a photocopier and LCD projector.

Application on behalf of the Zanzibar South Teachers’ Centre at Kiembesamaki, P.O. Box 370, Zanzibar. The Centre is led by the Teachers’ Centre management Committee, drawn from serving Head Teachers. Kiembesamaki serves 2445 teachers (434 Men and 2021 Women) who are responsible for 62,162 school pupils, of whom just over 32,000 are girls. It also provides facilities for members of the community with special Needs. 117 teachers are currently upgrading their qualifications, especially English as a teaching medium for Primary Schools on Zanzibar for the new curriculum. Four subject advisors deliver INSET through the centre. A final grant was made in May 2012 to buy further equipment.
