HUVIWASA is a group of young people in the Nazareth area of Kigoma. We have supported them with a grant of £1,905 for the purchase of a charcoal briquette making machine and start up materials and training. I met their chair Ahadi Samson in February and was impressed by both his enthusiasm for helping young disadvantaged people and his concern for the environment. The briquettes use less charcoal and produce no smoke. Already seven young people have been trained to use the machine and they plan to purchase a second machine in January 2021 with their own resources. This is an impressive group led by well organised young people.
