Villagers in places like Zeze, Kigoma, are subsistence farmers completely dependent on the health of their soil. Biochar improves water retention, and improve crop yields. Here they are collecting waste for biochar production. Read more here.

(6) Growing Watermelons at Tumaini
Students at Tumaini Open School had great success growing water melon to supplement their diet and raise income in the local market. Read more about this great project here.
