KAWESO NGO, which has successfully implemented water projects in Muleba District of Kagera, Region applied for funds on behalf of Ijumbi ward. The application was to purchase cement and sand materials with associated transport costs to enable a youth group to make bricks to sell locally. A brick making machine was already provided. The aims of the project are:
- Help people living with HIV with employment, particularly youth and widows. Ijumbi ward has a large number of people living with HIV compared with other wards in Muleba district.
- Build affordable houses for marginalised families and sell bricks locally for income.
This project is part of our campaign to support incomes and livelihoods for disadvantaged communities.
