A farmers’ group in Mahembe village, near Kigoma, asked us for help so that they could clear bush near a river and create a market garden. By producing vegetables for sale in Kigoma town they will be able to increase their incomes. We awarded a grant of £1119 for the purchase of a water pump and other tools.

Our parent, The Britain-Tanzania Society was also founded in 1975. It aims to increase mutual knowledge, understanding and respect between the peoples of Britain and Tanzania. It encourages knowledge and strong ties through regular seminars, events and publications.
