Sanga is a large village one hour’s drive by motorbike from Nyashimo, the main town in Busega district, Simiyu region. When I met a large group of villagers who welcomed me in February several told me of friends and relatives who had died because they were unable to get to the nearest clinic, 15 kilometres away. The application for a grant to enable the buildings to be completed and a staff house constructed came from a community organisation called FODEO, led by an energetic man called Salumu. We awarded £5,020.
