Mlole are a women's' self help group near Muleba. They grow vegetables to feed their families, and also donate food to vulnerable people in their community who cannot grow their own food such as orphans, widows and people with disabilities. They currently cultivate an area of one acre, collecting water in buckets from a shallow well, a very labourious and backbreaking job.
In September 2020 we funded a solar irrigation system for them which means they can now grow crops on 5 acres, year round, and so help many more needy people in their community. Check out the before and after photos below.
