Our Commitment During This Period of Uncertainty
Recent unrest in parts of Tanzania has created a period of uncertainty for many communities. During times like these, our priority at the Tanzania Development Trust (TDT) is to support our partners, volunteers, and the communities we work alongside, while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved.
We have been in contact with all TDT volunteers, partners, and representatives currently in Tanzania, and we are reassured that they are safe.
Despite the challenges, our locally-led projects continue wherever it is safe and practical to do so. We remain guided by our long-standing principles: listening to communities, responding to locally identified needs, and working steadily to strengthen access to water, education, and other essentials.
As stability returns to many areas, field activities are gradually resuming, though at a cautious pace. These moments remind us how vital long-term, community-driven development is in helping people build resilience and maintain hope through periods of change.
TDT remains committed to standing alongside communities throughout Tanzania, with respect, humility, and a focus on what matters most to them.
