🐐 Empowering Communities through Sustainable Goat Farming – Kazingati Village, Ngara District
Income Generation
Funding needed: £2,000 (approx. 6,000,000 TZS)
The Challenge
Many vulnerable households in Kazingati Village—especially women, youth, and people with disabilities—struggle with limited income opportunities and food insecurity. Traditional farming methods bring little profit, leaving families trapped in cycles of poverty.
Our Solution
This project will distribute two improved goats to each of 60 selected households. Families will receive training in goat care, shelter building, animal health, and business management. A community-based animal health service will also be established.
Through a “pass-on” system, each household will pass on their first female offspring to another family—expanding the number of beneficiaries by 40–50 households within the first cycle. Ten male goats will be managed collectively to ensure strong breeding and sustainability.
The Lasting Impact
This project will raise household incomes, provide a steady source of nutrition and manure, and promote community cooperation and self-reliance. With ongoing support from trained local animal health workers, families will have the skills and resources to build lasting livelihoods.
