Additional funding was agreed for this previously funded girls’ hostel from a legacy donation. This provided 20 bunk beds, completion of the girls’ latrines, and installation of a water tank.

In 2021 we gave additional funding to Ikondo to allow additional girls to sleep in classrooms at the school as the hostel was over subscribed. This allowed them to start a school farm to grow food for the students, expand their chicken project to support orphans with food and supplies for the hostel, and to purchase mosquito nets.

The chickens’ eggs will increase the hostel’s food security, increase their income generation, and give the students an opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship!
