(1) Water harvesting, Kigoma

Local rep Patrick runs vocational training for deaf students in welding, carpentry, and tailoring.

Here, they are introduced to yoga for the first time, via an online teacher in Dubai. They loved it! Read more about this project here.

 

 

 

 

(2) Improved water source, Kigoma

Enjoying clean water. Previously people had to use water from muddy streams shared with animals. Read more about our water projects here.

 

 

 

(3) Entrepreneurship Programme, Kigoma

The headmaster at Kitahana secondary school says “We extend our heartfelt appreciation to TDT for providing a reliable water source, which has not only relieved us from the burden of water scarcity but also created an environment more conducive to learning and academic excellence. This invaluable support has truly made a significant difference in our school.“

  

(4) Making charcoal from waste, Kagera

We  supported young entrepreneurs to start making charcoal from waste materials rather to protect trees that were previously cut down for this purpose. This project thus benefits the environment as well as generating income for the community.

(5) Young mothers graduate, Tabora

Girls who unwantedly become pregnant face huge challenges and discrimination in Tanzania, often losing any chance of an education. Tumaini Open School addresses this and gives them a second chance to fulfill their dreams.

Before we funded an improved water source, this was people’s only source, which led to huge health issues.
